So recently someone knocked my bike over and destroyed my bike. I thought it was going to just be a fairing replacement but noticed when I turn my handle bars turn against me.

I was just wondering if somebody else may know what it is before I take it into the shop.

You've probably tweaked the forks out of alignment.

The easiest way to fix this problem is to de-compress all pressure from the forks (hanging the front of the bike from the rafters is ghetto, but works), and then loosen the bolts on the upper and lower triple clamps.

Give the bars a light shake and the forks will probably re-align. Now tighten the bolts back and you'll probably be OK.

If it needs further adjustment, you can do that by re-loosening the bolts and pulling on the bars in the appropriate direction while the front wheel is held solid.

Also check this shit out too..

  • wear on front tire / condition
  • front tire pressure
  • front tire balance
  • front wheel bearings
  • steering head bearing
