Yes, definitely add some carbon fiber, but just remember two things! First, don't over do how many pieces you use, and secondly, and most importantly, never use fake carbon fiber for any reason what so ever!

for what purpose? bling factor - yup.

as nice looking protection- sure, why not

wanting to lose weight - nah, you lose way more weight for way less money on all kinds of other things.

but if you like how its gunna look on YOUR ride, do it. Who cares what anyone else thinks? I hate the look of toce exhausts, but thse that have them seem to love them, and its you thats gotta look at your bike more than anyone else!

The *only* advantages of carbon fiber are strength to weight ratio and conditional durability. If you're replacing steel paneling on car, this can make a semi-significant impact on weight savings. For a motorcycle that already has light weight plastic paneling to begin with, the difference will be virtually undetectable. As far as durability I really don't know how the carbon fiber paneling fairs in comparison to the cheaply replaceable plastics. People often replace the fairings because they're scuffed, rather than busted.

If you want the carbon fiber to reduce weight you might as well just not put any IMO :)
For stuff like a chain guard, agreed. (throwing safety out the window of course) Downside of that approach for some other fairing pieces is the potential for increased drag coefficient.

what parts do you carbon lovers wish they made that currently isn't being produced? I'll be making carbon mirror block offs and all the different weaves in the near future. what else do you WISH existed?

I can't find much for the 99-02 R6, honestly, but I may be looking with the wrong terms.
Are we talking actually resined hard fiber parts? Cause that would be awesome for a passenger seat eliminator, or the black vents on the sides of the bike, below the gas tank

yep, resin and cloth to make hard parts. but 99-02 parts would be tough. whats the market for those parts? it could be done, but would be expensive.

I have no idea what the market would be. I just own one and would find some of those parts cool to have as carbon fiber.
Realistically, these bikes are cheaper and easy to find, and still a lot of fun imo

I’d love to track down a quality carbon fiber rear fender and Chain guard.
