I was just wondering what are some of the regular check ups and how often you guys do to your bike to keep it in top condition??


When i have time I:

Wash it once a week (i wish)
clean the mirrors
tire pressure at least once a month
check oil/ fluids once a month
I probably should clean the chain once a month

anything else? Feel free to add on.

As above but I check my tire pressures every time I fill up & also inspect the tire for nails, cuts etc. Tires are the only things keeping me from hitting the pavement so I'm a bit fussy in that area.

I'd not only clean my chain but lube as well. But I'm thinking thats what you meant anyway ?

I'd also probably lube the chain after washing the bike as well ?

I also check the clutch & throttle cable freeplay & lube regularly.

Can't think of any more at the moment.

I check the oil every other fill up
tire pressure and visual inspection every ride
clean chain every 600 miles
lube chain every 200(a very light coat of chain wax)
adjust clutch as needed
adjust throttle as needed
Inspect forks for oil on shiny part(I forget the exact name) after checking oil
oil change every 2500 miles
check all visible bolts for tightness about every other oil change
clean it about twice a month or so

Am I anal?

is it necessary to change your oil every 2500 miles? or is that just babying it?

The manual says every 4000 miles, so 2500 you could say is babying it. But each to his own.

I think it's very important to also check all your lights. Vissibility is so important because we are so vulnerable. Also, if you lube after a wash or if you ride in the rain, make sure your chain is not wet. The chain lube can actually trap water under the oil causing it to corode. :twisted: Other than that, I'd say ride smart brudah.
