Used the search option first didnt find an answer. Now i know you get what you pay for when it comes to things. My questoin is how good are these ebay chains that have comparable tensile strength to the EK and DID chains? I need a 525 114 link chain. Want one thats not gonna stretch. Most ive found are around $140. The ebay ones $65-75 with similar tensile strength. Im already down 1 in the front and dont see much advantage to going to a 520 and sprocket kit. So what ya guys got?

While you don't need to shell out for a high end chain, there is no way I would recommend anyone to buy some cheap ass no-name Chinese chain off ebay. With the poor quality, and outright lying about the product that Chinese manufacturers are known to do, combined with the unknown retailer, potential damage and complete lack of recourse, it's a terrible bet to make.

Check out these chains, all under $140:

Sometimes there are translation errors too. I'd hate to buy a chain that's rated for 9500 kg.
That's more than twice as strong. :secret

i agree with most of the other responses in that a chain is not something to skimp on. additionally, if you've never installed a chain before, i highly recommend getting a buddy (who has) to walk you thru it as it's fairly easy to screw up your first time. if you can't, i would pay a shop to do it.

if i recall, you're in the SE michigan area. i may be able to help you out. a friend of mine has a chain tool and did the link on my bike. he may be willing to work for a couple beers. send me a PM and i'll see what i can do...

Appreciate it Saturn. I'm a pretty decent mechanic. Also have a friend with a chain tool. But I appreciate the offer. I actually live in Oxford as well
cool. make sure you watch and learn. i've been told that it only takes a small blemish on the pin to mess it all up.

now, we just need to get rid of all this snow...

Ahh ok. I would assume if u didn't mushroom it enough the pin could fall out and cause problems. Def have him help me as his chain has a few thousand miles on it and hasn't fallen off yet
