Is it normal when I’m downshifting to feel the lever shacking?

If there is too much of a mismatch between vehicle speed and engine, may bounce the lever a bit before "slamming" upon engagement. Should be "click" and that's it. Manual transmissions aren't idiot proof. Some people like to use their body weight to force the gears.
