So on my 07 R6 my clutch is engaging but when i go down into 1st everything's fine when i go to up shift to 2nd or higher gear i have to hold clutch in and drop to almost 1k rpms and then it shifts into gear what could be this problem?

Idle is probably around 1,500 RPM. Too much or too little throttle while in gear and clutch lever out, it is normal to not be able to shift. Have to neutralize pressure between engine/transmission. Pulling the clutch lever in has the same impact. What would NOT be normal, is to still have trouble switching with the clutch lever held in. If the engine RPMs and vehicle speed are wildly mismatched, such as shifting into first at 40MPH with the RPMs at idle, damage to the transmission can occur.

It doesn't make sense to have to drop to idle before every upshift. Not even sure what to tell you. Someone else may have more insight.
