I live in the Houston area, so our winters are pretty mild. Will a leather jacket like this one be alright for riding here, or do i need one of those big thick fluffy ones?

if it has a liner you should be good...

I have a Dainese Santa Monica Jacket with a full liner... and Loved it..

I just got a A* MX-1 with only the chest liner... and my arms get really cold in the morning...

but leather with a liner beats any other type of jacket protection wise.. while still allowing a lot of mobility..

I live in washington last week I rode to work in 23* weather and I was perfectly fine with leather and a liner.
