Crashed last nite. Somehow i managed to get out of it without a scratch besides a broken collarbone and a mild concussion. I think my helmet might have hit the bone as I hit my head on the ground. It was about an 80 mph crash in a 15mph corner (yeah, yeah, i know). I got ejected, flew a little then tumbled down and rolled. Got up, picked up the pieces of the bike and put them together, then figured adrenaline rush would wear off soon and sat down in a comfy position to wait for a car. Eventually it turned into a laying position. 2 cars slowed down looked at me and kept going when i waved my hand and yelled for help. Eventually after about an 20 min of going in and out of conc., someone nice stopped. They called ambulance. I pretty much forgot what city I live in and what my zipcode is. Somehow i did remember a conversation I had with a girl just before this. People in Brookhaven hospital were all really nice. Took me to the xray in front of a few drunks who visit them daily from collapsing from drinking. So yeah 6 week recovery that i'm not looking forward to.
i wish i had full coverage.

some ****er took off my left slider just the day before the crash =(

Icon leather jacket, joe rocket atomic gloves, joe rocket boots and shoei helmet all did their job. Helmet could have done a better job I think but I don't have any head injury so I shouldn't complain.

1 day later and i feel pretty good. Sucks putting shirts on and taking showers.

What do you guys think the bike is worth if i was to sell it as is? I can't tell if the forks are bent and taking it to a mechanic is kind of expensive. Is it worth it? Should I try to fix it up or should I cut my losses?

nah it was dark and i didn't even see how steep the corner was till it was too late. Only thing i learned from this is not to ride fast on a non-lit road that you are not very familiar with.

Glad youre ok, thats the important part. Ive seen crashes were the bike were in much better shape than yours and rider was in much worse condition that you. As far as the bike goes not knowing mileage, assuming the frame and forks are straight i dont see you getting more than $4500 for it. Take the forks off, go get em checked out, then hit ebay for everything else. Good luck and happy healing.

wow so that's pretty cool. thanks cash. I wonder if someone with very limited mechanical knowledge (all i know how to do atm is how to change oil) can rebuild it.

glad your ok! well since you have lots of non riding time on your hands you could learn:popcorn: probably isnt that hard but not having the right tools might be a problem... the only thing i have done is the oil too!:sing

its not all that hard to change forks and steering stem. its just taking nuts and bolts off. you'll need a front and rear stand. im changing mine right now cuz of a wreck too, mine got twisted. my front stand lifts from the forks so i couldnt use that so i just use a car jack and lifted it up under neath the headers. they're strong enough it wont hurt it.

nope, usually that road has these yellow glowing turn signs before slow corners. This one didn't haha. Live and learn.
I guess i'll be buying the stands then =)

Hardest part would be to make my parents accept the fact that i'm gonna keep riding.

Wow dude sorry to hear that. Very glad you are ok though. You people and your liability!! That really sucks you gotta part it out now man. Hope you can get some of your money back.

That exhaust damaged at all? If not i might be interested if you decide to part it out.

Good luck with the recovery. Worst bone I ever broke was my collar bone that shit sucks.
