Like tittle says. The engine light isn't on. So does that mean it won't throw any codes? I think the bikes running on 3 cylinders. We used the infrared gun to check the heat temp. on the headers and one of them is less then the others. Also the bike sounds off. Checked Coil packs and spark plugs. All working fine. Changed air filter.

Thanks

If it is like a car then there are two types of codes. One is a pending code. That means that it picked up an error in a sensor but it is not constant. These codes do not trigger the engine light. The second code type is a full blown malfunction which is either a large enough error or one of the pending codes that has become recurrant enough to trigger the light. I do not know if bikes are the same as cars but I would assume they are.
