i missed second gear real bad and my tach went way into the red for the first time. just wondering if i could have messed up anything.

Don't have a bike so I've never experienced that, but I have done that with my car and I was affraid I over-reved my supercharger so I feel your pain. :cheers

don't worry about it if you just bounced off it for a second. Even though we have rev limiters you can still blow it if you continously bounce the rpms off the limiter.

When I first switched to GP shifting I mistakenly downshifted a few times...

pretty disconcerting to hear the engine bouncing off the limiter while the rear end is hopping all over the place. :roll:

As far as I can tell, the bike is no worse for the wear.

these bikes are designed to run at high revs....thats how they get all the power out of them....so don't sweat it....

i did that once and it scared the shit out of me...i thought i had blown the transmission because it stuck in neutral..i just turned off the bike and turned back on and it was fine
