Are bikes supposed to make more then one distinctive noise while running idle?

sorry for the newb question but day 2 of my first bike and im still trying to shake off the jitters of the purchase.

The engine noise sounds solid but there is a semi-faint winding noise coming from under the tank. I know noises are hard to describe but if i could relate it i would say it is something along the lines of a car power steering pump that is busted...the noise remains constant for the most part except for when you throttle up, it does tend to increase with the power.

Is more then one noise from an engine normal??

I've had two bikes now (carbed and fuel injected) and the only time I got 'weird' noise that worried me in any way, was in neutral with the clutch let alone.... it seems at the idle RPMs, the spinning clutch (basket/plates?) rattle a little and sound like something is loose.... you don't get this if you have the clutch pulled in.

Maybe try listening to the bike beside the engine on both sides.... from the top (ear near tank) and distinguish if its coming from the engine or maybe a loose part (fairings? )

Turbo???

J/K

Every bike makes it's own sound, and NONE of them sound exactly alike. The noise... it should go a way once your in motion. Some do it when you put it in gear and still have the clutch in. My guess would be clutches spinning. Nothing to worry about.
