Exhasut: Race or street?

I am researching exhaust and I am unsure if I should get a race or a street can. I will of course be using it on the street. I don't want it to be too loud and getting too much attention from the man.
But at the same time I don't want it to be too quiet and be disappointing for the money spent.

I'm looking for some advice based on first-hand experience.

At this time, I'm leaning toward a Micron or Blue Flame hi-mount.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hey yo Dude,

I just installed a BF race can on my '03. It's a loud can for sure and it sounds great. I do have a vid of it but can't post it here until the forum switches hosts. If you want to hit me up thru messenger, it's [email protected]. Also, Micron seems to have problems with fading and cracking on thier finished and the BF quality is top notch.
I have a review in the Product Review area if you want to check it out.

Go with whatever can you like most in my opinion. Whether it be race or street.

Its not going to be as loud as some of the exhausts they put on Harleys that shake the windows as they go past.

Just keep your original so if you ever to have any problems you can put her back on to get past the inspection.

Dude,

Dont worry about sound, there are always gonna be a million other bikes that are louder than yours. Like what everyones saying, Go with what you like. And if your smashing around town attracting attention, "The Man" will notice you reguardless. I'm sure they understand bikes loud. I suggest which ever has the best performance before sound, so i'm pretty sure race is more engineered for performance.

Redline- I am seriously considering the GYT-R system, or possibly just the slip-on. Sound is not a real concern to me as much as looks and stuff, but I dont want anything that is excessivley loud. How does it compare with other There is a guy I know that has a micron that sounds nice, and the dude with the akrapovic is too loud for my taste. What do you think?

Rubber side down!

I used to agree with that, but now that I have my pipe on, I can't say that there are many bikes louder than mine.

jar, the GYT-R race cans are loud! They are deeper toned than Micron on the bottem end, and a tad deeper on the top end, but alot louder in both areas. GYT is alot louder than i thought it was at first. Louder than Hindle, Micron, Akro, Blue Flame, M4, Two Brothers, in fact, about all except Jardine Race cans. My .02

Devil, the one I just put on, is not the loudest I've heard, but it is real close.

Also a deeper tone than most. Has a bit of a muffled buzz.

Makes the bike sound bigger than 600
