the simplest first step is remove the spark plugs and verify the engine turns over.
if it seems extremely dry, might want to do it by hand.
if its at least been turned on to idle from time to time. then you're ok just cranking the engine over to get the fluids flowing, but be sure to remove the spark plugs first as you will eliminate most of the cylinder pressure when cranking, reducing drag coefficient on anything metal.
