Probably a lot of you guys have already heard about this thing. But for those who haven't - it would be an interesting find.

Few words to give you an idea of what it is:

Moto-electronics manufacturer Whistler recently developed a Safety Light system, which repeats brake, running and turn light signals right on your helmet. Attaches to all 3/4 and fullface helmets. It increases visibility and safety for all following drivers.
This works like a high mounted third brake light on cars and trucks.

In automotive industry 3rd brake light is mandatory since 1986, because many road tests have proven that it improves the driving safety and helps to prevent accidents.

Thanks to wireless technologies we finally got something similar in the 2 wheel world.

Do you guys think that such helmet lights would become mandatory for motorcycles in the future, like the third brake lights on cars?

See details and price below:

I hope not...and I'm all for greater visibility in general...but this flashing with your head sometimes turning, reflecting off of your mirrors in strange ways for other drivers to see, and likely out of sync with your regular turn signals would be pretty distracting/confusing/unnecessary for other drivers.

This thing synchronizes with your turn lights by a wi-fi module and blinks simultaneously. So it shouldn't distract following drivers.

If it became mandatory it would probably be state by state, since some states don't require even a helmet. *Sigh* Guess that's one more purchase for road trips, yay.
