This is my first post, sorry for not searching, desperate for help

I just bought an 06 r6 race bike, and I was going to pick it up today and I called the guy and he said he just got the bike back together, and it will crank and run, but it will not rev up, will not do anything when he gives it gas...

what could the problem be, I have a race tomorrow (saturday) and sunday and need this bike fixed.

could it be something with the ECU from a wreck or the throttle postion sensor.

let me know

thanks in advance

If he's turning the grip and nothing at all happens then my guess would be something with your fly-by-wire system. If it started and idles it seems unlikely to be the ECU but I could be wrong. If hes revving it and it wants to but dies out as he does then there are other issues to address.

he told me it just won't rev, so it's called the fly-by-wire system??

On the 06 R6 you do not have throttle cables. I do not know a lot about the system but something in the grip translates throttle position to a sensor that (I assume) the ECU uses the info to set the throttle body plate position and fuel trim.

Anyone can feel free to correct my info.
