Hi guys I'm hoping someone can help.
Doing a lot of work to my bike this winter and just installed PVC sfm and qs.
When put back together the ignition light on the dash is on and will not start.
I have traced it back to the sfm connection to the plugs to the White 6 pin connector which is under the air box, the only issue during installation is I could not find an earth at this point so earthed the sfm to the smog block of plate on the engine, when I plug the standard connector back together the light goes off, could the earth be causing a problem, and where should the earth actually go?

Bikes a 2008 uk r6

Cheers andy

The ground for the SFM should be on the common ground on top of the engine case. Figure D of the SFM guide shows it pretty well. This is the common ground for the entire stock harness. If you have the ground on the smog plate I question whether you are connected to the correct spot as I'm not sure our ground would reach up there. Did you have to remove the airbox to get to the 6 pin connector? If so then its wrong.

Yes I had the airbox off, I could not find the commons ground but will look again as it sounds like may have the wrong 6 pin plug? If I am under the airbox and not the tank
