I have a 2006 r6, i snapped my left handle bar last year when i layed it down. I finally got all the parts, including the new bars and i'm having trouble taking the old bars off

Ok...

i took out the bolts with the allen key on the both sides(the handle bar claps). so i have the bars loose to the point where i can twist them.

the problem....The top piece of that whole assembly

i took out the allen key bolts and i cant get the top piece off so i can slide the handle bars claps out. I noticed 2 more bolts underneath kinda where the ingition key is. but its impossible to get to them (or are they even holding the top piece on?)

How do I get these handle bars off!?!?!

please get back to me on this. thanks

You have to remove the 36mm steering stem nut in the center of the triple and take the top triple tree off. Then the bars should slide right up and off the fork. When you put it back on, its 85 ft-lbs of torque
