Does the noise persist when the vehicle isn't trying to move? (in neutral) Does the noise change based upon whether you have the clutch lever pulled in, and/or are in 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th gear?
High pitch Squeal
Just recently purchased a 2007 R6 with 11k miles and I was riding yesterday at about 35 mph and just squealed really loud and died on me and pulled off and turned it over just fine, this morning went to cold start it just to see if anything would happen, and it squealed again for about 8 seconds anyone know anything that might help?

The noice has happened while in neutral off a cold start and has also happened while already in 3rd right after I had just shifted from 2nd.Does the noise persist when the vehicle isn't trying to move? I'm assuming whether the clutch is held in has no impact.
Does it behave as though the engine is facing extra load when the noise ensues?
Oil levels are normal? Any debris in the oil?
Do you have an audio recording of the noise? I can understand not wanting to run it again, but perhaps you can locate a similar recording; or mention a similar noise that we could all relate to.

Yes the bike behaves as if the engine is taking extra load the oil is good no debris in the oil at all and the noice sounds exactly like if a belt has gone bad on a car and it starts screeching that’s the exact same sound it makesI'm assuming whether the clutch is held in has no impact.

my brother had a brand new 2006 FZ6 that squealed like a belt on a car. it was the clutch. i've never heard any other bike do it. it did eventually quit after it got more miles on it.
I came across this post and just got back on my 2012 yzf r6 with about 13k miles I bought the motor cause last one took a poo on me but I have a video of my bike doing this same thing …. I can send it on here ?
This is the video it’s about 5 seconds done it on cokd start yesterday morning done it while riding in that video then done it one more time at home it goes away and rides and shifts and oil is all good
