oh ya itll work ive used some close to it. a good one to do is use some aluminum square tubing(1/2 inch outter width i beleive) with a 3/8 inner width so you can use a socket wrench to get it off.

go to pep boys and pick up an oil filter wrench for the exact size of our filter for $4.
Why? I just made one that will work. Cost me $0, I didn't do it to save the $4, did it for fun I guess

Well, you are down a socket, but chances are you already had a spare. Being creative, especially when you are bored is better than a lot of other options out there. Enjoy your new tool! :cheers

After looking at a few pics of these, I decided to make one. Looked easy enough, plus it gave me an excuse to break out the dremel. Here are some pics, I haven't used it yet, I hope the fookin thing works

Nice craftsmanship.

Yeah, I replaced my oil recently (600mi) and had to use a screw driver and a wrench. It was a bitch to get the oil filter off...not to mention messy as hell.
