i used to ride a lot when it was cold (under 30 degrees) on my 2000 and the battery wasn't very good so it would always be dead, i would do it in first gear but second worked too just a little smoother and spike the throttle has you pop the clutch and pull it back in real quick also make sure you got the key on and switch on

1. sit on bike
2. turn key on
3. clutch in
4. shift to 2nd
5. attempt to move the bike ( once moved )
6. pop the clutch and apply throttle?
7. Once started pull clutch in quickly....?

Also make sure the cutoff switch is in the running position. Other than that, you got it.

Yep. I've done it with the R6 twice now. Stupid grip heaters... Even stupider guy who wired them straight to the battery...
