Is there a special way to clean your brakes? Or can I just take brake cleaner and spray the calipers?

^ well every time I search for "how to clean brakes" People are always talking about disassembling the whole calipers and what not. But when I was at a repair shop before and they were replacing my brake pads for me they sprayed the brake cleaner right onto it without disassembling it. I'm not sure if the pads were in or out at that time....

I always put down a plastic bag and a rag, So it does not hit my floor/wheel/tire and just be easy with it. It is very simple and dont take very long. Just dont get it all over the place
