I'll be out on my 2 wheels until there's 2 feet of snow on the road. There's always that week or two that the snow cant decide if it's going to stay or melt. Although, at six in the morning, the engine does make a nice hand warmer. People look at you funny when your huggin your bike at every red light.

I was just about to ask how you guys in cold and snow deal with not being able to ride. I have only had my bike a few months and the last week or so has been damn cold and raining.

I was so desperate to ride I rode 170 miles yesterday just to get oil and a filter, on the highway for a majority.

all you bitches in the south can SUCK IT!!

I put the bike away at the end of September since the rear tire was showing cords and why replace the tire for a few weeks and then letting it set over the winter.

I'm already iching for a ride... so many nice days, well I guess it is going to rain for 3-4 days in a row now, but anyways.... I just want to ride again...

Well it was a sad morning...first time i had to hitch a ride to school. I think winter is here to stay. It's like a part of me died when i saw the snow. At least i have a season behind me with no damage :cheers I'll be back asap next year. Have fun riding down south ladies and gents!

For the past few years I have been fortunate enough to live in an area where you can ride almost all year long. This December I am moving close to the DC area, been told there is about 4-5 months out of the year you can't ride. That's gonna hurt. Oh well, guess I will have to spend the winter months installing mods!

If there is no snow or the road is damp, i'm riding. I live in MO, arround St. Louis and 2 nights ago i was riding and i passed a semi truck delearship and i liikes up and the tempature read 29 degrees, i was doing 90 MPH, when i saw that my legs suddenly felt really cold. i was wearing a lingsleeve shirt, a fleece, and a thick coat, helmet which i has to open the visor about a half inch t keep from fogging, 1 pair of jeans, 2 pairs of gloves and the outside pair i use for snow skiing, and my addidas shell top shoes. So after i pass the sigh i decide to see how cold it can get and i went up to about 130 MPH. i got off at my exit and the people in the car next to me must have thought i was crazy cause i looked like an eskimo hugging the bike for dear life. The only problem is that this was on a 04 Gixxer 600. I will probably do that again tonight.

As long as there's no water on the ground I'm riding.

Another plus to riding when its cold your bike makes mucho power. I think the rule of thumb is a 1% increase in power for every 10 degrees drop in Farenheit. Here in Oklahoma in the last two monhs I've ridden in nearly 100 and nearly 30. I promise you notice 7% more power.

Man i totally agree.... after a week of no riding, I took the bike out to top her off (she had been sitting on reserve) and I had been getting nervous about the overnight temps) ... anyhow, I go fill her up and take her for a romp .... and my god, on the sidestreets, pulling back the throttle.... it was like a NEW bike....

I've ridden the bike every day for the past 2 weeks.
Mainly because the starter went out in my truck and I'm looking at buying a new one this weekend, but the weather has been really nice for October.

I'll probably ride all year unless we get another ice storm.

Our lows have only gotten to the 30's a couple of times so far this year, so I'm still going strong. I just have to worry about dodging the piles of wet leaves. Sucks big ones hitting those. just remember that cold tires stay colder longer when the temps drop, smoked mine a couple times already
