Hey all

First time poster here so if I’m in the wrong place I’m sure you’ll let me know. I’ve inherited an 08 R6 from a good friend of mine who’s had to move back home to NZ. I’ve been informed it was a write off and apparently is worth **** all even though it’s been repaired and inspected( (not by me). Thing is from what I’ve heard, the accident may have been more for a “bike upgrade” and not so much that he bike was actually damaged to an extent that it couldn’t be repaired.
the bike is stunning and has no blemishes, rides true.
Now to my actual question.
I have a frame and swing arm assembly with a clear title. If I were to transplant the engine, wheels etc basically everything except frame and swing arm over, would I be able to register that bike instead and avoid having the cursed ppsr write off bullshit?
many advice is good advice. I understand yamaha don’t do matching motor and frame vins I could be wrong.

thanks in advance

Titles only follow the frame - you could buy a clean title and swap everything other and the bike would essentially be whatever year frame you swapped it with.
