I am just wondering because I am thinking about getting rid of my gsx-r 1000 and buying an 07 r6. I had an 06 r6 and I loved the handling and how I felt on it but it was gutless until you got around 12k rpm and I was wondering if the 07 is the same way or not?

No, they are the same bikes, minus color changes and making sure the tach was "close" to accurate. The 08 is where the new model comes in. If you're lucky though you might find a dealer that has a new 07 for cheap that they are trying to get rid of.

Yea, a dealer by me has a new 07 but to me I don't think that is a fair trade, a mint condition 07 gsxr 1k with 2200 miles on it for an 07 r6. My friend bought a new 08 yesterday but the weather has been to crappy so we haven't gotten to ride it yet. I am anxious though. I don't think I would like the 07 r6.
