$1000 but it only pays for the value of your bike towards the purchase of a new bike, i guess its a good option to have, dealers usually try to make you pay for other things like a battery tender and blah blah
If someone steals your bike and trashes it out and Lo-Jack gets it back, then the insurance should put it back in decent shape. If you cant force yourself to enjoy your bike after that then you can always sell it and get another. Personally I like the idea of potentially catching the persons responsible for stealing the bike and hopefully sending them to jail so that they wont steal someone elses bike the next day. I say do it if you can afford it and thanks for attempting to do SOMETHING about the problem.
I just installed LoJack on my new R6. I was so pissed when my R1 was stolen in February that I was determined that any future thief be caught. Unfortunately, it didn't stop some asshole from stealing my tag last night- WTF?!
Awesome, thanks guys. I really appreciate it. The dealer was going to charge me $1500 but I kinda figured that was over priced. I guess I will call around and see how much it will run me. If need be, I'll buy it separate and have a dealer install it.
Heyser in Laurel charges 1000 for the new lojack with the motion sensor pager (you get a call/text/email if your bike is moved without the transmitter nearby)
The dealer needs to make money off of it too, thats why its so much money through them..
lo-jack is good and bad in my opinion...It can always help insurance costs stay lower if you have it and possibly catch thieves...But than do you really want your bike back after its been stolen and God knows what they did to it?
