Im really sorry if im flogging a dead horse here, but.....

Im planning on putting a 70 profile M1 on the front tomorrow. Has any one else done this to their 99-02 model.
Ive read that loads of members have done this to their 03-04 models with no need to mod the front fender, but cant seem to find out if its straight forward with the older models.

I put a 70 208 gp on mine and it ribbed just a little but no visible damage The 208's are way taller so you should be fine

I put a Bridgestone BT012 on mine & stones where scraping under the fender so I raised it up as per these directions.

00' right here. Just did it, no rubbing. I also have a blown fork seal if that matters.
