I am not a fan of sliders at all. However, if you're debating which ones to get, go with the poly. Poly is less likely to bend you motor mounts or your frame if you do go down (Gawd forbid). But both have the potential to screw things up as much as they save them. They are great for accidental tip overs or low speed get offs though.

well my only hope that having sliders installed would be for an accidental tip over, but if i did lay it down.... would metal sliders grab more than poly and tend to flip the bike over. or are poly better cause there softer and would absorb the initial hit better??
"grabbing" is what you do not want them to do because that will cause them to take the mounts with them bending things that are not supposed to bend. But yeah, I would assume that poly would absorb the fall better than metal. Dude, just stay away from them. Or go with race railz or barrier bars. Both can be found at motosport.com
