Would this be a bad idea to use? I was thinking about getting some to clean my wheels, not the tires >.>

Give it a shot....as long as the directions say its safe to use on powdercoating youre good to go

I just use a rag with a little WD40 soaked in it to get the chain lube off my rear rim...works like a charm....

Im assuming thats why youre looking into rim cleaners?

I used to use the Mothers every time I washed my bike. I let it soak for about a minute then use the regular soap bucket and same cloth that I washed to bike with to clean the wheel. Always clean the chain before you wash the bike, then wash the bike, then slean the wheels. Don't forget to relube the chain!
