What do you guys think about Motul 5100 synthetic blend vs the full synthetic 300V? Does the 5100 still offer compatible rust protection or is it much more worth it to spring for the 300V?

Also, how does the Amsoil SAE 10w-40 Synthetic (MCF) compare to the Motul 300V full synthetic?

Thanks

motul 300v is one of the best oils you can purchase.

Your crankcase should be sealed so rust shouldnt be a concern unless you park
at Spongebobs pineapple.
I live 200' from the ocean. I dont have "rust" issues on any of my engines.

good to hear, thanks for the info. This time though I think i'll go for amsoil synthetic since its just for storage, then try the 300V when i'm riding for the summer, because its a full $20 more per gallon :/

It isn't really "rust", but corrosion within the engine from the acids that form from used oil. That is why it is recommended to have fresh oil in the bike before storage.
