yeah i didn't get arround to putting a pipe on it cause i didn't feel like looking for a side view with Akrapovic at the time soooo...that's the same reason i didn't put any carbon fiber on it cause i didn't feel like making tha pattern...but it give me a good idea of what my paint will look like

New-guy,
How about using semi transparent plastics with that pattern? I haven't seen anything like that. I am not sure what you can use, maybe some sort of fiber glass.

something like this that you can see the inside of the bike, i know this is a CAD drawing but it might be a cool idea to use a semi transaprent plastic for your fairings

You'd have to make a mold and then use plexiglass to do something like that I would think. You might even be able to use the stock fairings as a mold. Interesting concept though. wonder what it would look like in person.

Oen thing for sure, it would be unique!
Just don't do the plain transparent. Maybe a little smoke tint or color themes that you would like. I might try to play around with Photoshop and try how it would look.....

lexan or ldpe (low density polyethylene) would be transparent.
Lexan would be hard to work with, no? LDPE has a better flow rate but don't think it would be as durable. Any way you slice it, you're gonna have to have a mold made. Unless you plan on buying a sheet of lexan and apply a blow torch very carefully and free form it........

Here's a link to a bunch of different kinds of molding processes. I'll talk to my pops tomorrow and see if he knows any small custom mold manufaturers who could price something like this out (he worked in the plastic industry for 40 years). And the mold (designing and building it is the most expensive thing). The raw plastic material is cheap as shit.

Just got off the phone with the old man. the problem he thinks is going to be getting sufficient strength from them. but he's putting me in touch with a guy who's a specialist in the different techniques of molding and he should be able to clear this up. It's obviously not if it can be done, since it can be, it's a matter of how feasible it would be. I mean, if you make a 100 clear fairing sets (like the one piece race fairings) and it costs you $100g to produce those 100, well, then you're looking at $1000 a piece to justify your costs of producing them. So everyone needs to see how much they'd really want to pony up for something like this before it even remotely becomes a consideration. I'm gonna follow thru with this and see where it takes us. And $100g just to be able to produce this is not a unrealistic number.....
