My First track day!!!

Yesterday was my first track day ever, i entered in Level 2 out of 4 lvls since i ride in the hill country and was told lvl 1 would prob be a little to basic for me.

Anyway the day started off kinda discouraging but by mid second session and deff third, i started having a blast and learning the track.

By the end of the day, i popped my knee cherry and was able to down both multiple times, and actually started gaining on SOME of the people that passed me in earlier sessions, even though i was still getting passed at times, i was improving at my own pace.

Im def addicted and will be selling my organs to support my new habit. Here is one pic of me, im the first one of the three!

Welcome to the addiction. Look in your wallet right now... that's the most money you'll ever have again.

LOL!
Is that Texas World Speedway?
yessir!
Good stuff, I finished my third in three months yesterday.
I am hoping to go there sometime within the next few months. Curious, how is the surface of the track? Any patches?
Not a bad line through that corner, are you guys running the new configuration or the oldest? I used to race there in 95-97, as well as Oak Hill, Monterey, Mx. You can pass alot of people on the outside there but new guy feel more comfortable on the inside. Once you hooked that's it.
very cool! there's just 1 organ i would suggest is worth keeping intact :hump otherwise, sell on!
Street riding will never be the same...
I'm goin to Roebling Road in Savannah GA Saturday and Sunday!
Completed my first track day last April at CMP and will return next week for another round. I did go down at the end of my first day and I am glad (NOW) that I got that first lowside out of the way. This pic is from day 2 (Post Crash).

or poor body position
Probably a little of both. I am 6ft and the body position is not the best but it was only my second track day and to be honest I had no idea what pos. my body was in until I saw the pics. Atleast I know what I need to work on next time...
I want to get out to a track day... What kinda gear do they make you have? I just went out and watched my friend race his porsche at road america in WI... Now im dying to get on the track. Anyone have any info on a track day around Chicago let me know.
There tons of post on gear you need but quickly: Leathers (if 2 piece have 360 degree zipper), Gauntlet style gloves, racing boots, and DOT helmet of course. I also opt to wear a back protector and am looking at a chest protector as well. You want to protect the vitals!

Get some tips from the experienced riders at the track. You look like your sitting too close to the tank, and too upright. I would have someone follow you and then give you some tips.
Right on CJR, yeah I have lined up with an expert for next weekend and a little one on one is going to help me out alot. I will post (hopefully) some improved pics after we get back. I cant wait!!!
