Ok, i got a set of Qualifiers on the bike atm. both tires have almost 7k miles on them. but only the rear needs replaced. front tire still has lots of life in it. i want to leave the front tire on and replace the rear with a PP 2ct. stock size and all. would this really affect anything? or do i need to get a matching set? i use the bike for work commute and hitting the twisties.

i've heard that having that kind of mileage wear between the two is a big no-no. after 7k miles, if it was me, i'd just replace them both. i JUST got done trying to find the cheapest tires on the net (monday got a flat, had it replaced tuesday of THIS WEEK), and found a place called www.motoxoutlet.com. might be worth a shot to get TWO new tires, and not just replace the rear. just my two cents though...

I do it all the time. It has never once caused any kind of handling problem for me. I know lots of people who use a sport-touring tire on the back and a sport tire on the front. They never have any trouble either.

Why waste money on tires that you could spend on gas?
