Hey guys, names Robert. I am going to be purchasing a 08 R6, either yellow or black.

I got a quote so far for 9800 OTD on a yellow one. I was wondering if you guys think that is reasonable. I am going to attempt to get the black one for 9250 OTD.

Anyway, thanks and I'm sure I will have noobie questions for yall! Thanks and have a great night!

Absolutely TPayne

I told the guy I was offered 9300 OTD on the black one. He said he can beat it, but I'm debating on if i should call the main guy who I was going too and tell him they offered me 9200.

Go for it. You got nothing to lose. Try to get some stuff thrown in, like a free first service and maybe even throw in a FE kit or something. :D

I paid 9800 OTD w/ 6 year warranty, and 3 PPM's... ehh, i'm happy.

I got a story for you! This kid named Steven who just bought a bike from there paid $14k OTD for a yellow one. He doesn't have his license or permit, he has never driven a bike before. So he started "trying" to drive it around on the street... He's redlined it a couple times. The guys there and I were talking about how he's gonna end up killing himself since he's never been in traffic.. the poor guy. Anyway, here are a few pics of mine in their garage before I loaded it :)

Gotta love it stock! Only mods I'm going to do are... FE, integrated tail light, LED's on passanger pegs, rusted clutch & break and probably hidden signals. (forgot what their called) I'm a new guy for a street bike.

Anyways, im a new guy to sport bikes as well (not new to motorcycles though so im already a decent rider)

Where do you plan to ride? i noticed your like the same age as me haha, got any other riding buddies? sorry, not trying to be a creep. It just sucked to ride bymyself and have been looking for other dudes my age to cruise around with (nothing crazy)

I plan to ride wherever the road takes me :) A sport bike is totally different than the dirt most definitely. It's got steroids, lol. I had some buddies but they left for the military so I'll be riding alone as well.

I'm not down for crazy either, it's just to cruise and enjoy the weather... lol... also a commuter instead of driving my damned 07 silverado, 14mpg! We can keep in touch for sure.

Ya, i currently drive a built 07' Subaru STi, and i gotta fill up like 2x's a week, and i think one of the piston ringlands is fried cuz its been running poor and sometimes puts out blue smoke which are the signs of that, i need to do a compression check to see for sure...But im totaly over driving it

Have you ridden up chapman past jamboree? Where it goes into the canyon? Thats a fun lil ride, and it leads up to cooks corner (bar/grill) where all the bikers hang out, than from cooks is trabuco oaks which is a nice lil drive under the trees

Nothing crazy or far, but its good roads to get used to the bike and not very many cars

Nice, Black was my first choice, but the shop didnt have it at the time. It takes awhile to get use to the bike, just don't get to aggressive and dont go over your limits. Do that and you will be fine.
That's my main concern, but yeah I agree. I haven't really been pushing it. Day by day I see what else I can limit myself too and stick to that. Around my neighborhood I noticed I'm going to have to counter-steer a lot more than I normally should have too but that's just gonna come with practice. I'll make myself an ace on the side streets before I hit the traffic, lol.
