Hey guys just bought a 2006 50th Anniversary R6 with 4,000 miles on it. My question for you is this:

The guy i bought the bike from threw on a full Akrapovic exhaust system from day one but didn't install the o2 sensor and the bike doesn't have a pcIII running on it.

Is this Bad?

I noticed that on cold starts the bike takes a few more seconds to crank over than my buddies but the bike seems to run fine..

if no pcIII then yes you need an o2 sensor.

Yah that's what i figured... do you think this could have harmed the motor in any way? the thing seems to run excellent no noises no hesitation its running a little on the rich side which isn't bad i guess...

That could just be a Yamaha or R6 thing. Mine takes longer than my old suzuki to cold start but I've heard someone mention before that it takes the 06/7 R6 longer to start than other bikes.
