Alright this might sound stupid so here goes. Does it hurt anything to down shift without using the clutch. I have been doing it that way just pushing on the shifter and it slipps down very easy but my roomate told me its bad for it so I've come to the experts.:bow

Thanks,
:dunce:

Yes, it can hurt the clutch, shift fork, dogs, and other crap. DO NOT use clutchless down shift. Clutchless upshift is okay, clutchless down shift is bad.

The 06/07/08 have a slipper clutch which is designed to downshift without using the clutch. And you won't hurt your bike for the most part. I recommend all of you who didn't know you can clutch down with a slipper clutch research the technology.

ah crap...i've been clutchless downshifting for awhile...I guess i'll stop it with the new bike then. I've gotten really good at it too lol give the throttle a little blip and kick down the gear all in one motion.
