Hey guys, new to having my 2001 R6 so i'm not sure if this is normal. It's about 180-190 degrees when i'm riding but when I stop at a stop light for like 30 seconds it will jump up quite a bit, 220 degrees for instance. I don't think this is normal but i'm not sure, thanks guys.

Operating temp is between 180-190... 220 is fine when you're stopped/idling but it should never get over 240/250. Over that, you have a problem. My 03 tended to run @ 185 but could jump to 210-220 in city when hot or at lights.

Fan should kick in around 212F (correct me if I'm wrong), that will cool your bike down until you gain speed to cool it down.

Your bike is fine.

I have an '01 and your temps are fine. Thecca is right on.
