Place: Deal's Gap
Lodging: Fontana Village

Website: www.fontanavillage.com

Rates for lodging: We do get Discount Rates, But you MUST tell them you are with the Yamaha R1 Forum Group 1-800-849-2258 tell them you are with R1-Forum / R6-forum.com

Make your reservations early. IT WILL FILL UP!!! It would really suck to not be able to get a cabin at Fontana

Fontana Village has cabins and rooms available!

Look at their website and inquire of them by phone to make your choice. 1-800-849-2258. I would suggest making reservations as early as you can, everywhere fills up that time of year up there.

Make sure you tell them you are with the R1 Rally so you get the special rates and so that they put you with us, if there are any problems ask to speak with Debbie or just let me know.

They have blocked off cabins and rooms for us. So start making reservations as soon as you can. For the guys coming up as singles I would suggest getting together with other folks on the Forum and splitting the cost of a small or large cabin. There are gonna be several cabins available. Some of them brand new!
Fontana also has campsites available if you want to camp. They are approx. a mile down the road.

We have 22 cabins and 10 lodge rooms blocked off for us at a discounted rate, after March 1st they will be released to the general public and WILL sell out. SO GET YOUR RESERVATIONS MADE!!!!

Everyone is welcome - but please realize that this group is made up with many types of riders of different skill levels and desires. This is not about getting together to race, or to drag other people into riding above their limits! Everyone is expected to ride at their own pace and have a good time!

COOK: Fontana Village

REMEMBER: Deadline of Apr 23d 2009 for all funds!!!

Alcoholic beverages: BYOB

T-SHIRTS: PRE ORDER ONLY!! The shirt cost of $20 is included in the price above. If you don't want a shirt you aren't required to purchase one.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Snapz. We know as Laura. As far as I know she will be joining us again to take all the photos. I will have her start a thread and handle all this.

PRIZES: Of course we will have prizes like each year. These will be given out at the Yamaha dinner on Saturday night. You HAVE to be a member of the R1 Forum or R6 Forum and also on the definates list to be eligible for the Prize drawing.

I want to be there in 2009, but I am afraid that I am not up to the skill level required. I really hope I can make it, I like you guys a lot.
It's not a race or anything like that. We have all kinds of motorcycles there, and all kinds of skill levels from just got on a bike not too long ago, to licensed road racers. You ride your pace, and don't worry about everyone else. I spent a lot of time this year on my Vmax and R1 two up. Wasn't about fast.

It's an awesome time! You really don't want to miss it.

Sounds fun, if I was able to make it I would be all alone. I wonder how much money I need to save...
A lot of us put about 25 dollars a week away, and it works.

Come on out. I am SURE you will have the time of your life. It's not all about running the Dragon at speed. There is the fellowship that lasts a lifetime!

Yea, I was thinking about saving 50 a week and hopefully spending less thand 2 grand on the trip. I don't want to actually ride my bike but truck it there. I would be completely alone so I would be really sad if I didn't meet anyone there that I knew.

I am pretty shy as well. I hope everything works out ok...I am going to try my best!

I am also game to sharing a bunk with anyone who would like to get with me...Please PM me if interested!
In the next several months the bunk issues will get taken care of. There will be a couple of people who will get a list of those who want to share a cabin/room and situate everything. Watch for that thread to come out.

Thanks Paytheon! I think we'll have a cabin thread going soon. We will put a link in the first post.

You won't spend that much. Main expense is getting there and back. Also, the food if you decide to eat the meals. Or, you can bring your own food. I'm in Florida and there was three of us who went together this past June. It was great to split the gas three ways. If you do decide to go you will meet some awesome new friends. It's a blast. Next year will be my 6th Convention. We will have many cabins and some will be looking for people to split the cost.

Doing the meals and not having to cook is a BIG plus.... :fact Makes it feel like a true vacation.
Oh yeah! Being able to get off the bike and have a hot meal with no work involved is great! Then hang with the best people on Shuckstack :fact
