Ohlins damper with yoke protector?

Well the officials say its not to be used for it... not sure y... but i think its cause the yoke protectors hole is exact and if the nut was there it would overlap... but im only guessing... i got a yoke protector but nxt week ill be looking to get a damper... i was thinking of just cutting the proctector to fit. I think its quite essential with the keys flapping n scratching it.
