Been looking everywhere for a clear answer but all i get are charts i dont understand. What spring/part number do i need for the ya-039 ttx shock for a rider weighing 212. I know each spring has up to 25lb adjustment.

Racetech spring calculator recommends you use between 11.178kg/mm for street and 11.401kg/mm for track for your weight, assuming you are riding a 3rd gen. Same weight, same bike so I cant see other shocks being too different. I personally have no experience with Ohlins, but many say they like to be sprung on the light side though... Maybe a 10.7kg/mm # 21040-36/105 or the 11.2kg/mm # 21040-39/110
I am currently running the 10.7 Ohlins spring on stock shock around the same weight as you and am looking to go to the 11.2 to achieve more static sag. Good luck

Thanks for a ball park answer! So, can u tell me the weight ranges for the 21040-36/105? I know the shock by default from the factory comes with a 21040-29 which i know is gonna be wayyy to light. Also whats the weight range for the 21040-39? I was more familiar with the older ohlins ie .95 or 1.0 but i guess on the newer ohlins (TTX) have a longer spring in comparison to the older models.

I borrowed this from another forum. (TTX spring has free length of 160mm and an ID of 50mm I believe) Replace the 1091 with the TTX part# 21040 and I believe you are good to go.

Like I said in my previous post, I have no experience with the Ohlins shock so have no idea about top out springs, sag settings etc..

Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in? Plenty of other treads on Ohlins spring rates too. Just remember though its all rider feedback/preference.

1091-34/100 is an example of a code you will find on an Ohlins shock spring. Using the below charts you can decode what you are looking at.

The 1091 refers to the diameter and the length of the spring. Almost all Ohlins springs have a diameter of 57mm so thats easy, the 1091 in this case means it has a 160mm length (when not on the shock)

The -34 is the spring rate. For some unknown reason Ohlins uses its own numbers to label rate, but below on the rate conversion chart you can cross reference this number. In this case a -34 is a 100nm or 10.19kg or 571lb spring

The /100 is the springs rate in Newton meters, but without the decimal. In this case the /100 means its a 100n/m spring.

Thanks a lot mick! Yea im heavy so to achieve the riders sag i like i need stiffer springs.
