There were two times today when i started my bike after sitting for a while and the oil light went on after a minute or two. on both occasions, i checked the level of oil (which is perfect), i turned off the bike, and restarted it. after that, i had no more problems for the rest of my drives. i changed the oil for my first time yesterday. any input? i'm going on a longer ride tomorrow and don't want any problems.

edit: no leaks, 550 miles on bike

add oil till its at the full level, run bike for couple minutes, retest.

yeah i'd rather have an unnecessary light than too much oil... i'd say the oil level is at about the 5/8 mark of the dip stick. seems perfect to me
