Most mid priced guns will do a decent job but I would suggest a gravity fed gun over a suction fed gun. My reasons being there is very little paint waisted and for me its easier to clean up after using it.

you really get what you pay for in this area. you buy cheap and you get cheap. look at star and the cheaper line of devilbiss. they are both decent guns. ive always used SATA JET guns. these are extremely good guns, but the better ones run around $500+. i have an old SATA 90 gun that i done use anymore. let me know if you are interested. it is still in good shape. its a gravity feed gun, non-HVLP, and has a 1.3 tip. let me know if you are interested, ill give you a good price.

ill send you some pics later(probably 2morrow). HVLP means high volume low pressure, it basically means that it puts more matterial down on the surface with less overspray. i think in some states it is actually mandatory to use HVLP guns (this pertains to bodyshops). if your only going to be painting every now and again you'll be fine with the gun i have for sale.

i actually use harbor freights line of gravity fed guns. I spend about $30 a gun and get one for clear and one for base/primer. Works well for me, i dont expect them to last long, but they put down paint just fine as long as you have a good compressor that meets the min. air output(CFM, cubic feet per/min), and make sure and clean them properly!
