just got my r6 in feb. (my first bike) and have decided to start making some performance upgrades. i started small and replaced my filter with a K&N, but it feels like ive actually lost power, top end mainly. is it something ive done worng or are there other steps i need to take to support the different filter?

Its been said that K&N actually restricts more air flow than the stock, you should have gone with BMC or GYTR. Try adding full exhaust, or even a slip on if thats more in the budget paired with a pcIII and you should feel a bit of a gain.

more air and same fuel =runs lean. youll eventually want a pcIII to fix it. make it worth it though by buying more upgrades :)

You could always do a 520 conversion, cheap and a noticeable difference. You'll also need a speedohealer for your speedometer.

I heard that the stock air filter is better than the K&N as well. I have a full Leo Vince exhaust with power commander and it was well worth the money. Upgrade in performance, looks and sound.
