2003 R6. I'm having an issue with my TPS sensor. It's brand new. I got the sensor new, installed last year, but only has MAYBE 500 miles on it. The bike is not idling correctly. It's dying. It's not throttling correctly.

When I installed the TPS last year, through the diag mode, I installed it to spec, all numbers were correct and everything was fine.

Now the diag mode shows 20-88 is the max after cleaning and multiple tests/proper installs to try and get the correct values.

Does anyone know why this would happen? Is it possible I just got a bad TPS sensor? Is there anything else that can cause these values to be so far off, and unable to be corrected even tho I had it perfect less than 500 miles ago? TIA

It's possible that the lock-nuts aren't in place for the adjusters. So over time the adjusters vibrate out of position. Bad voltage in, bad data out. Make sure the sensor bank is getting correct voltage from the wire harness and ECU.
