Will the power commander for an 06 R6 pt#418-411 work for the 08 R6?

Why don't you just get the one for the '08? Part #430-411 and run the map for stock settings until a map comes out for you slip on.

Sorry, that sucks. I would contact who you ordered it from to see about sending it back. Pretty sure with it being to different part numbers that it won't work. Who did you order it from?

i think the 06/07 and 08 are the same they have different part numbers becuase they come with different base maps , im not 100% but i think thats the way it works :)

What about the o2 controller? There isn't one on the 06 commander but there is one on the 08. Do I need the o2 controller?

Locate the stock O2 sensor connec-
tion.
This is located under the fuel tank
near the rigth hand side of the frame.
It is a BLACK 4 pin connector.
11 Unplug the stock O2 sensor from the
main wiring harness (Fig. G).
12 Plug the Dynojet O2 controller into
the main wiring harness.F
The controller can lay on top of the
engine or be securely fastened to the
harness. Make sure it does not come
into contact with the fuel tank when it
is in place.

Tuning Notes:
This bike uses a fly-by wire system, so conven-
tional tuning can not be performed for all RPM
and throttle ranges.
The GREYwire from the PCIII is attached to the
throttle blade angle sensor of the throttle bodies
which is NOTdirectly correlated to the throttle
grip position. Because of this when setting the
throttle position in the PCIII software we recom-
mend on resetting only the closed position after
the bike has completely warmed up. Use the
arrow key (<) next to CLOSED to perform this
step and then click OK. Do not try to set the
OPEN position unless you are on a dyno and
above 10000rpm.

You will notice that in the maps there are not
detailed values below 10000rpm at 100% throttle
and below 9000rpm at 60-80%. This is because
the throttle blades will not open more than 60%
below this RPM range no matter how much throt-
tle input is given. Therefore this area can not be
tuned. O2 controller

I understand how the install works Tidy, the problem is I was sent an 06 commander instead of an 08. The 06 commander does not have a o2 controller on it.

Happened to go to the dealer today, matter of fact just got back, and the topic of discussion was PCIII's cause I will be getting one once i decide what pipes I want and I asked if the one for the '06-'07 will work for the '08 and it was a big NO. The engine for the '08 is to different and the map for the '08 is different. My suggestion is to send it back.

Ah, apologies!:toocool:

Just send the 06 back, ask for the 08 (Part No 430-411) and tell the a$$hole you want some freebies for your hassles.

I sent it back and got another one. I plan on getting it tuned next week. I had a dyno pull before the PCIII and it made 103whp. I will do a pull with the box tune, then another after its been dyno tuned.
