If I wanted maximum acceleration, do I have to stay in each gear until it hits its max rpm before I shift up?

If I wanted the best gas mileage on my r6, should I shift up as soon as I can to keep the rpm's low?

What's the fastest speed anyone has hitten a 90 degree turn in?

yea, the corner question is really hard to say because it depends on the length of the corner. If you're talking about a 1/4 miles radius corner, I could maintain 75-80 MPH. If it's a 10 foot turn, you might be looking at 10-15 MPH.

loki, your answers were so helpful and detailed. thanks, man.

seriously, though, how should you ride your r6 if you want the best gas mileage.

as for the 90 degree turn, how about a street corner (one lane).

So for the best gas mileage you do want to stay in the lowest possible rpms without lugging the motor. You'll feel it, you barely have to give it gas to keep it going...

As far as max accelleration, you do need to utilize the full range of the engine. You've got to play with it to find the sweet spots. I've only been to the dragstrip once... You can tell when you don't shift right!
