Well, I just bought a 2006 R6 this weekend, and I thought I might as well join the forum here. This is not my first bike though. I owned a 2003 yzf-600r and then a 2003 honda 600rr, which I eventually tracked out. I sold the honda and decided on an R6, and so here I am. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with it so far. It's a pretty mean machine, that puts out a lot of horsepower, and it has a complete ohlins suspension set up. Oh yeah, this thing will never see the street. :D

Some pics...

Anyway, it will be good to talk with some of you fellow R6 owners, especially about common issues with this particular model (if there are any). I'll be at VIR on June 2, so maybe I'll catch one or two of you there.

I paid $7500 for it.

SS Legal and ready to race
Ohlins 25 mill kit
Ohlins TTX Rear Shock
Pit Bull Steering Stabilizer
Woodcraft rearsets
Dynojet:
--power commander
--Quick shifter GP shift
--Ignition Module
Full Ti Leo Vince Exhaust with Carbon Fiber can
Sharkskinz Body work
Renthal Sprockets 15/46
EK RXO o-ring chain
Stock Air Filter
Yoyodyne slipper clutch
Vortex Clip ons
Woodcraft Engine Covers
Goodridge -2 steel brake lines
Vesrah SRJL brake pads
Woodcraft Frame sliders
Engine Built by KWS (129hp)
Manual Cam Chain Adjuster
Runs on Pump gas, but mapped for MR9

Plus he gave me an extra set of wheels, a lap timer, 5 sets of new tires, an extra leo vince full exhaust, an extra gas tank, a bunch of extra sprockets, an extra clutch and various clutch parts, extra clipons, 5 gallons of mr9 race gas, etc. He was getting out of racing, and I think I got a pretty sweet deal.

That thing just scares me by looking at it... You're nuts for racing, LOL.

But hey, good luck bro, and I'm glad I bought a bike because it seems like a cool crowd and not to many immature idiots out there. So far, so good :)
