I have an '03 R6 and I need to replace the tank. I have located an '04 but does anyone know for sure if these are interchangable? I know the '04 uses a different map, but I wouldn't expect that any changes were made to the tank/fuel pump in '04. I looked up the part numbers (for the blue tank) and the they are identical except for the two digit extention. The '03 has an 02 extention and the '04 has an 05, whatever those two digits represent.

I did call my local dealer yesterday but all they could say is that the tanks look identical.

Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge/experience with this and
can confirm that this is a valid swap?

There were no changes from 03 to 04 except graphics.
The bikes are identical.

Even the computers are the same. Yoda and I swapped ECUs while troubleshooting my bike and they swapped fine.
