I put my radar detector on my bike and wired it with a switch off teh battery. The Cops will never be able to see it and you will tell when they are around. Works great.

Damn, I didn't know of anyone that's done that before! I know the Escort Passport Solo II is battery operated, so you wouldn't have to worry about plugging it in or finding a wire to run it off of...

Heya get some pictures of how it looks, where you mounted it and stuff like that? I was thinking of getting one for my bike also, I have a Valentine One which works very well in my Eclipse but wouldnt think of mounting a $400 radar detector on my bike.

have you guys heard about the radar detector that suppositavly will enable you to never get a speeding ticket again or they will pay the fine? it scrambles the signal, ive never seen or used it but i heard it on the radio and i am sceptical, i would think the cops would pull you over anyways if their radar gun isnt working on your vechicle and everyone else's who knows anyone got info on this?

You actually wouldn't even need a switch. Just hook up the power wire to the fuse of the ACC fuse panel and the radar detector would come on when the bike is on and go off when the bike is off. Or you could get really in detail and do like I did and hardwire it to an ignition wire and work the same, just more reliable. I install remote starters and alarms and stuff at the place I work. Car audio and Security store where I live. If you guys have any questions on it, let me know. I put a cobra in and it works great.

Are you guys just installing with the window mount on the windscreen? With the vibration and everything wouldnt you run a risk of it falling off when you hit a bump at a higher speed? I need some pictures here...

Thanks for the tips on how to wire it up, but i use the radar in my truck too. So I need to find some kind of portable power device with a cigarette lighter adapter I could plug my radar into, so i can easily switch from the R6 to my truck.

Just buy a seperate cigarette lighter for your truck and hardwire it to your bike... that way you can remove the wire from the detector when you get off the bike and plug it in on the car

Yea no prob, thats how I did it on my car... that way I can put it in any car I take but it looks nice and concealed on my main car...

btw dont buy an expensive wire from the maufacturer... look for the adapter plug and a fuse holder to hardwire it to the bike, for the car you can use any one of those cigarrete ones that fit... I've seen the ones from escort cost up to 40 bucks for a simple little wire! Just make sure it's fused when you hardwire it, mine is like 3A because thats what was in the cigarette lighter
