I tried the search but it picked up every thread with the word "exhaust"

I am wondering if anyone has tried to remove the stock muffler but keep the stock exhaust? If so is there any footage of the sound?

I'm like most and don't love the sound of the stock exhaust, nor do I like it's looks. But for the cost factor, I would rather weld up a pipe to go from the headers to the exhaust. Not sure how it would work though. I haven't torn into the bike yet to even see if it's worth doing.

I'm very new to the R6 platform. I bought a brand new R6 from the dealer late last week and have been so busy with work I have only touched it once since then.

YouTube. Search akandok

Check out my beginning thinderhill videos. That's the sound this setup makes.

In my opinion... Don't do it.

I'll take your word for it. I know on my 350Z it actually helps to improve the sound with keeping the cost down and the OEM look. Bikes.... Not exactly my area of expertise.. yet.
