I did some searching and it seems everyone is drilling/ grinding the factory rivet and replacing it with a left side clevis and cotter pin setup.

Is this the correct way to replace it?

If so, if I get a new right side footpeg, it comes as an assembly riveted to the bracket. Am I going to have to drill the new one out too just to separate the footpeg from the bracket and then install it using a left side clevis and cotter pin? Thanks.

thats what I did to my pegs ground it off then stuck a bolt it there n drilled a hole thru the tip n stuck a cotter pin in there, so far no problems which is only temp. until I get my left clevis pin in. that seems to be the most logical way
